At Lake Health and Wellbeing, we are always exploring creative ways to support children in building healthy habits that last a lifetime. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our My Healthy Heroes Activity Book, a vibrant, engaging and educational resource designed especially for children aged 8–9.
This 32-page activity book brings health education to life through fun, imagination and interactive learning, making it easier for children to understand and embrace healthy lifestyles.
Built around a team of dynamic, superhero-inspired characters, the book encourages children to learn about healthy eating. All of this is delivered in a way that feels playful, empowering and age-appropriate.
What's Inside the Book?
Children will find a variety of exciting and thoughtfully designed activities, including:
- Crosswords and word searches featuring health-related vocabulary like vitamins, water, protein and exercise
- Mazes with a twist, where children collect clues to unlock a secret message from the Healthy Heroes
- Colouring pages that bring our 3D characters to life in their own creative way
- Fill-in-the-blank activities based on an original song and poem
Each activity has been carefully developed to reinforce key health messages while keeping children fully engaged.
One of the features of the book is our cast of six newly redesigned My Healthy Hero characters. These characters have been developed using original 3D modelling techniques, giving them a bold, modern, superhero feel that we hope will resonate with young readers.
Their presence throughout the book creates a sense of continuity, helping children connect with the messages in a fun way.
To make the experience even more exciting, My Healthy Heroes includes an innovative WebAR (augmented reality) feature.
By simply scanning a QR code, children can watch one of the Healthy Heroes come to life in 3D, performing an original song right in their space using a phone or tablet. This interactive moment connects directly to one of the book’s activities, where children can complete the song lyrics themselves.
It’s a fun and memorable way to blend learning with technology.
Supporting Learning in Schools and Communities
The My Healthy Heroes Activity Book is designed to be flexible. It can be:
- Used independently by children in their free time
- Integrated into classroom learning alongside our My Healthy Heroes Teacher’s Guide, which delivers a structured 4-week programme aligned with the HLFE curriculum
