Sweet Talk is a healthy drinking series produced as part of the You’re Sweet Enough campaign. Each episode features informative and interactive interviews with various guests who share views on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and discuss approaches to improving our communities’ health and well-being through healthy drinking and eating practices.
The premier episode of Sweet Talk features Sir Trevor Hassell, President of the Healthy Caribbean Coalition (HCC). He discusses the NCD epidemic in the Caribbean region and highlights the dangers of sweetened beverages on public health. Sir Trevor tells us how the HCC is championing a human rights-based approach to advocacy around reducing the consumption of sweetened beverages, and the regional calls to action for governments to implement policies, including front-of-package warning labels, bans on the advertising and sale of sugary drinks in schools and sweetened beverage taxes.
