Today we discuss a recent conference that we attended, the 63rd annual CARPHA Health Research Conference which was held right here is S Kitts.

In this episode we touch on why we love attending conferences, who CARPHA is and discuss some of the highlights, from our point of view. You’ll also hear a clip of Dr James Hospedales, the Executive Director of CARPHA, speaking at a press conference a few weeks before the conference about this event, its history and mission.

The Eastern Caribbean Health Outcomes Research Network (ECHORN) –  collaborative research study that examines the lifestyles, eating habits, and health behaviours associated with cancer, diabetes and heart disease in adult men and women living in the Eastern Caribbean.

The Caribbean Cancer Registry Hub – supports strengthening cancer registration in all independent countries and territories located within the Caribbean basin.

The Caribbean Cancer Centre Network – a network of cancer centres in the Caribbean that house some of the most advanced technology available worldwide. They deliver care through their partnered care model.

Obesity and weight misperception among adults in the Eastern Caribbean – an excellent research study that was presented at the CARPHA Health Research Conference

The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) – the only regional public health agency in the Caribbean. They provide strategic direction  in analysing, defining and responding to the public health priorities set out by CARICOM
