Mrs Renee Brown Small

Renee Brown Small is the co-founder of The Fibroids Project and understands the plight of women with uterine fibroids and is passionate about spreading information on fibroids options and treatments. Over the past few years, she and her co-founder, Nnamdi Osuagwu, have interviewed prominent physicians and researchers on fibroids treatment and prevention. She oversees the project’s direction and manages content for The Fibroids Project’s website.


 Ms Candice BryanAsk the Expert (About Fibroids)

Candice Bryan is the founder of Noire Wellness which seeks to improve the health and wellness of African and African Caribbean communities living in the UK.  In 2017, she launched the #FibroidSeries wellness hub providing women with informative and engaging physical activity workshops and live demonstrations as a holistic approach to managing the effects of fibroids. She is a thought-leader and speaker on a variety of topics related to sport development, inclusive fitness and wellness diversity, and as a dedicated researcher in the field of sport and wellness and the current chair of Active Harrow, Candice oversees the implementation of their physical activity and sports strategy and the delivery of action plans. She draws her fitness experience from over 20 years working across the sector including the management of the day-to-day  organisation and operation of a multi-award winning disability fitness project where she supported over 120 disabled people to become qualified fitness instructors. Dr Sydney Dillard

Dr. Sydney Dillard is currently an Assistant Professor of Health Communication at DePaul University, Chicago, IL (USA).  Her areas of expertise focuses on women with fibroid tumors, sustainable university-community partnerships for social change, and health campaign development. Dr. Dillard has served as a speaker in conferences across the globe addressing health disparities and behavioral change for healthier living.  She’s published several pieces on reimagining health in the 21st century and is currently finishing a book recommending non-surgical approaches to fibroid tumors.  Dr. Dillard also serves as a health campaign consultant for several government and non-profit organizations. Dr Nigel Hacking

Dr Nigel Hacking is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at Southampton University Hospitals in the UK and specialises in Uterine Fibroid Embolisation (UFE). He was one of the pioneers of UFE and has one of the largest experiences in the world. He set up and runs both UK Fibroid Experts and Fibroid Caribbean and performs UFE in the UK at Southampton and London as well as in Trinidad, West Indies as well as Nairobi, Kenya and helps train Interventional Radiologists from UK and overseas to set up their own services. He has published in peer reviewed journals and has recently edited a textbook entitled ‘Radiological Interventions in Obstetrics and Gynaecology’.  For over 10 years he has spoken at most of the most prestigious Interventional Radiology conferences around the world each year on Fibroid Embolisation and other topics.


Mr Adrian Lower

Mr Lower is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Minimal Access Surgeon and is the founder of the London Fibroid Clinic. He has a strong interest in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, preferring to correct anatomical abnormalities allowing women to conceive naturally wherever possible, but he also has subspecialist training allowing him to offer assisted conception when nature fails. He is widely published in peer reviewed journals, has contributed to a number of major textbooks of Gynaecological Surgery and has been invited to speak at numerous international scientific meetings on his chosen areas of research over the last 20 years.
