Thank you for your interest. This vacancy is now closed. We are no longer accepting applications.
Are you interested in making a difference in St Kitts and Nevis? Do you have an interest in public health? Are you dynamic, dedicated and hard-working? Then, we would love to hear from you.
We will be starting a new 12-month project to advocate for policies that promote healthy drinking, and we are recruiting an Advocacy Officer to support the work of this project.
As an Advocacy Officer, you will assist with the development, organisation and implementation of a range of activities to advocate for government policies and decisions related to healthy food and beverages. You will also assist with the implementation of a media and education campaign focusing on the health harms of unhealthy food and beverage choices. This work is of the utmost importance as St Kitts and Nevis, and the Caribbean region, have one of the highest rates in the Americas of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The high rate of NCDs means that we are sadly losing many of our citizens prematurely – 83% of deaths in St Kitts and Nevis are due to NCDs.
The high rate of NCDs in our Federation is a result of an unhealthy lifestyle and by promoting healthy food and beverage choices, we can save lives.
What We’re Looking For
If you have an interest and experience in public health and health policy; have a very good work ethic; good communication skills (both oral and written); good people skills, with a commitment to always engaging positively and in a warm and friendly manner with others; and have a willingness to learn, then please do apply.
