A JAA Grant is a small payment made to multiple myeloma patients to assist with some of the costs associated with living with this disease.

The grant can be used to cover costs related to:

  • Home care
  • Medical care facilities – care homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes
  • Doctor’s appointments
  • Utility bills (electricity, water, gas, internet, phone)
  • Transportation costs (for family members to visit patients, specialised transportation for patients and transportation for patients to attend their appointments)
  • Psychological support and counselling for patients and their families
  • Treatment and medication
  • Equipment such as wheelchairs, stairlifts, healthcare beds
  • Bathroom adaptions and other required home adaptions for patients
  • Medical treatment abroad
  • Palliative care
  • Brain stimulation therapy

The maximum size of a grant will be $200 USD.

Priority will be given to patients residing in St Kitts, Nevis, the British Virgin Islands, Trinidad, Tobago,  Nigeria and Ghana.

In the first instance, we will only be awarding about five grants and you can apply from 11th September 2020 by completing our short online application form.

Who Can Apply?

Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of multiple myeloma can apply for a grant. A friend, family member or healthcare professional can apply on your behalf.

You’ll need to complete the online application below and then email us a letter from your doctor confirming your diagnosis. This letter will need to be signed by your doctor, written on their organisation’s letterhead, scanned and then emailed to us.
