We’re excited to share that we have received ethics approval from the Ministry of Health’s Ethics Review Committee to move forward with a new research project under our Menstrual Health Education Programme.
The study is entitled “Exploring Perceptions and Support Needs in Menstrual Health Discussions Between Fathers and Daughters in St. Kitts and Nevis.”
Through this project, we aim to better understand the dynamic between fathers and daughters when it comes to menstrual health. We want to learn what helps or hinders open, supportive conversations, and explore how best fathers can support their daughters with their menstrual health.
We’ll look at what daughters need and how fathers can help create an environment where girls feel comfortable raising any menstrual health concerns. The insights gained will help us develop practical, culturally appropriate resources to support these important conversations.
We’re currently looking for participants
If you’re a father (aged 18+) whose daughter has gone through puberty or a woman aged 18–35, and you’re open to having a one-on-one, confidential conversation with someone from our team, we’d love to hear from you. Each participant will receive a $50 EC in appreciation of their time.
If you’re interested, please email: info@lakehealthandwellbeing.com
A heartfelt thank you to Adtalem Global Education and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine for their generous support of this project.
