The theme for International Women’s Day this year is #PressForProgress and Noire Wellness and Lake Health and Wellbeing are calling for everyone to #PressForProgress to improve the experience of women with fibroids.
For progress to be made, we need:
- Breakthrough research into fibroids and ethnicity
- Patient insight on the impact of diet and exercise on fibroids
- A commitment to professional excellence when caring for women with fibroids, who have a family history of fibroids or who have symptoms associated with fibroids
- Global and local support networks to ensure that women with fibroids never feel isolated
- Greater awareness of fibroids, its symptoms and impact on women’s lives, particularly the psycho-social impact.
We want all women, particularly women who have been affected by fibroids, to join us in our social media campaign to highlight the change that needs to occur to improve the experience, care, health and wellbeing of women with fibroids.
How you can get involved
Share your thoughts – tell the government, researchers, charities and health organisations what is important to you – is it more research into treatment or prevention; or more support and information; or better quality of care?
You can create a post with a message that says what’s important to you and then you can attach one of the images we’ve created. Here are some examples of the images you can use; you can view and download all the images in the downloads section at the bottom of this page.
Share our thoughts – use the images we’ve created and our sample social media posts to help us raise awareness of our key messages.
You can copy, paste and use our sample posts before and on International Women’s Day, you can find a collection of sample posts for social media here.
You can download all our social media images with our key messages at the bottom of this page, but here are some examples of our key message images that you’re very welcome to use.
Share your story – Have you been affected by fibroids? Why not share your story by writing a blog post for Noire Wellness and Lake Health and Wellbeing. This will be promoted on social media with a #PressForProgress message.
If you want to get involved, please email info@lakehealthandwellbeing.com or info@noirewellness.com
